Location

Some of the most attractive areas of Cardiff are located to the north of the city centre such as Cyncoed and Radyr. Cyncoed is known for its large Victorian houses in the area around Roath Park. Raydr is almost a small town unto itself and certainly has that atmosphere. It is linked to the city centre by frequent train and bus services. Llandaff is famous for its cathedral and is only a short walk from Pontcanna Fields and the Taff Trail. From here it is possible to walk all the way through the parks to the city centre. This area - Bute Park, Blackweir and Pontcanna Fields are a major attraction for Cardiff city living. This huge public area on the banks of the River Taff attracts runners, walkers, fishermen and families enjoying a weekend stroll. There are also football and rugby pitches. Adjacent to Bute Park is Sophia Gardens, the home of Glamorgan County Cricket Club and their fantastic new stadium. This is one of three magnificant stadiums in the city, the other two being the Millennium Stadium and the newly built Cardiff City Stadium - home to the Cardiff Blues and Cardiff City F.C.

More Affordable

Modern more affordable housing can be found in areas such as Pontprennau and Thornhill. These locations are ideally placed close to the M4 motorway and were developed in the last twenty years to accommodate an ever expanding city. For those people looking for more traditional houses at an affordable price then Fairwater offers 1930’s housing and Grangetown is largely terraced houses built around 1900.

Cardiff Bay

Recently, the development of Cardiff Bay has brought a large increase in the number of apartments to the city. These properties are ideal for young professionals working in Cardiff. Cardiff Bay is linked to the city by a seven minute train journey which runs at fifteen minute intervals. There is also a regular bus service. Mermaid Quay is the heart of Cardiff Bay and the location of the Wales Millennium Centre and the National Assembly for Wales. There are also a good selection of restaurants and bars. Construction of the Sports Village is well underway and the International Swimming Pool and the White Water Rafting Centre are already major attractions.

Public Transport

Cardiff has great public transport links. There are forteen train stations across the city linking the suberbs to Cardiff Central. From here you can catch mainline trains to many destinations including Bristol, London, Mancester, Swansea and West Wales. Services to and from Penarth run every fifteen minutes.
