Cardiff Council has unveiled plans to create a Business District in the heart of the city creating some four million square foot of office space. 140 acres of land will be used stretching from Cardiff Central Station, past Callaghan Square to Cardiff Bay. The development has received backing from the Assembly Government who, along with Cardiff Council will commit £60 million. There are also discussions about creating a convention centre close to the Millennium Stadium, possibly at Millennium Plaza. The hope is to attract major national firms to re-locate and expand into the capital. A new “integrated transport hub” is also planned to replace the existing central bus station to meet the increased demands in public transport. This annoucement is yet another fantastic boost for the Welsh Capital.
